Fun with Mixed Media

I took this photo of my reflection in the sunglasses, last time I was in Australia - on Shell beach at Monkey Mia, Western Australia. I have saved the photo for a fun project.

I decided to do a Mixed Media with a selection from my bits and bobs boxes.

I must admit - Yes I am a hoarder of Mixed Media stash. Always on the lookout for old clocks (gears), old computer parts, sewing machine and type writers. I dismantle them and stock all the bits - and sort them into boxes. A few people have asked me - "What do you do with all those bits and bobs?" Here is an example of what I make.

The background paper is from Prima: Boussole - Cartographer and Bo Bunny (Somewhere in time Evening mist). The Bo Bunny paper was something I won through The Paper Crafting. Flowers are mostly from Prima. I have used Gesso, acrylic paint and distress paint to paint the background. I have also used gesso and a Tim Holtz stencil to create some background effect.

The Mixed Media canvas is a DTcontribution for Hobbykunst

A shaped Magnolia card

This is another card made for StampARTics summer challenge

I wanted to make an easy summer card. The stamp is an old Magnolia stamp, Explore Tilda. The motive has been painted with watercolours. The background paper with musical notations is an old paper from Minnehjørnet. The green butterfly paper is an old paper from Graphic 45. The butterflies are die cuts from a Memory box dies.

The back of the card is decorated very clean and simple.

This card was created using mostly old stash. The patterned paper is an old paper from Prima. I have also used old book pages to create the background. The fence is my own silhouette design. The Tilda stamp, is from an old collection. The stamp has been coloured with Promarkers.

I always decorate the back of my cards. They are often decorated clean and simple.

    "The Cure" fan card

I got the task to create a card for a fan of  "The cure".

The silhouette is taken from the album "Boys don't cry" from 1980. The rest of the card is a mixed media card, where I have used different bits of metal, charms and also small roses. The background is made with stencils, stamps and distress ink. The audio cassette is an old chipboard from Prima. I have used a thin strip of a plastic bag, to create the tape.

The back of the card is decorated in "black metal" style, with black paper and silver gear diecuts.

    A card for a rapper

I was asked to make a card for a male rapper. I went through all my digital and rubber stamps and found the Anime DJ digital stamp in my collection. This stamp is a girl, however, by cutting away the pigtails - it appears as a boy.

The stamp has been coloured with Promarkers.

I have woven the background from bazzill, and stitched the woven strips together. I have used stencils, distress paint,  distress ink and glimmer mists to create the effects on the woven paper.

Patterned strips of paper on the top is from Prima.

    A flower card

I have made a new card. Most of the embellishment is handmade, from paper diecuts, and made from paper leftovers. I have used dies, punches and the Silhouette. The background paper is from Fab Scraps, Organic Strawberries and from Pion, Almas Sewing Room, Purple rose.

    A pop-up mini album

We have a summer inspiration over at StampARTic. This time, I have created a pop-up minialbum. I will hold a class in creating a similar pop-up album, at a craft gathering in the northern part of Norway.

I have mostly used Prima papers and embellishments. The photos are family photos, most of them from the UK.

We are geocachers. We are often "Out and About" and looking for caches behind road signs and telephone boxes.

Marmite is something you either love or hate, our family is split in this discussion...
    .

The grass has been cut with a Silhouette.

The pop-up bench is my own design.

The London Eye is also my own design. The ferris wheel goes round.

I have made a short video to show some of the pop-up pages:
